Can the Credit Card Lender Sue in Court?

Yes, indeed, you can be sued by the credit card lender at anytime after you have defaulted on your payments.  Now, each lender will have different amounts due on the debts before deciding to take legal action although you can be sure that the bank will not wait until such time that you have incurred hundreds of thousands before filing a suit.

The only sure thing about legal actions on the part of the creditor is the statute of limitations, which is a prescriptive period for filing of suits and which can vary from one state to the next.  If the lender sues you after the statute of limitations has run out, you have just won a case for dismissal.
